On The Road Again......
Posted by James Rich on
We are just days shy of our next show, Indiana Artisan Marketplace in Indianapolis, Indiana. It's been four and a half weeks since Kentucky Crafted: The Market. Indiana Artisan seemed so far away then, so how is it almost here? For this upcoming show James has finished his redesign of our tables. I must say I consider myself pretty lucky to have a business partner who has a Master's in Architecture. Pretty much our entire booth has been created by him. Booth lighting, our canvas panels with our jewelry images and name signs, our pendant necklace display, jewelry crate displays,...

The BSpoken Designs Story
Posted by James Rich on
The BSpoken Designs Story It has occurred to me recently when we were doing Kentucky Crafted: The Market, that many people know our story, of how BSpoken Designs came to be......but even more do not. So I believe this to be a good time and a great forum to tell you our unique story, of how two people (pretty much strangers at the time) kind of happened upon a really good thing and took a leap of faith. You just never know where life will lead you.......At the beginning of 2012, our paths...

What a Production! (Our Updated Show Schedule)
Posted by James Rich on
Tis the season for show season juries. We love show season (March-October)! It's a lot like putting on a play (yes, I was a theatre major) as it's so much more than making canes and creating jewelry. There are boxes and bags to order, jewelry findings to purchase, repairing and/or freshening up our booth and booth displays, not to mention updating our wholesale line sheets. After everything is ready, there's still the packing and the actual getting there. We're very fortunate when our families schedules match up and they caravan with us. It's a constant build up until the show...

Warning: BSpoken Bead Necklace Class Could Be Good For Your Health
Posted by James Rich on
Did you know that our Bead Necklace Make & Take Class can be good for your health? That may sound odd to you at first, but according to lots of research, taking time for yourself to explore your creativity can reduce stress and help ward off dementia related illnesses. Just viewing art in a museum can lower your stress hormones, so actually participating in making art is even more significant to your body. When engaged in art making, whether you consider yourself artistic or not, research has shown that creating or working with our hands enhances our mental health and makes...

Magic Beads
Posted by James Rich on
We've all heard the story of Jack and the Beanstalk with those famous magic "beans", right? Well, we now make magic "beads"! Quite a few of our designs have come about by being the off spring of something else, so why shouldn't "magic" beads result from our 3 Year Beads? I guess I need to explain this one. I work as a special needs paraeducator at an elementary school as my "day" job. This job sometimes requires more creativity than making our jewelry. I have been working with a student on and off for two years that loves our jewelry....
